Membership
Membership is open to all U.S. citizens.
AIS artists enjoy outdoor painting and figure and still life painting in the studio. Emphasis is always on capturing light and color, using broken brush strokes and impasto spots of color to create a dazzling impression of the subject.
Associate Membership
status is acquired by mailing in the completed membership form with a check for annual dues.
AIS Associate Members in good standing, may enter the AIS National Juried Exhibition (entry fee also required).
Signature Membership
status is acquired each January, by 1) completing the 3 consecutive years as an AIS Associate Member, and 2) being accepted into 3 AIS National Juried Shows.
Our Signature Members have earned their titles by showing superb impressionistic fine art. Signature Members, in good standing, may enter AIS National Juried Shows (entry fee also required), state AIS after their name be listed on the AIS website and in other promotional materials. Member must apply for signature status by noting such on membership form and status is maintained with annual membership dues.
Master Artists
are invited by the AIS Board of Directors and may sign AISM after their name. We select our Master Artists carefully from within and outside our list of members. We consider them to be leaders in the art community. They are U.S.A. citizens, nationally known, epitomize the highest level of impressionism, and passionately give back to society by sharing their knowledge and support to AIS. AIS members in good standing may submit a new Master Artists nomination (not self) by completing a form:
